# Hedwig pricing: Free, Starter, and Pro plans

Hedwig is free to use for everyday invoicing and payments. The **Starter plan** ($5/month) adds recurring invoices, full revenue history, and daily brief emails. The **Pro plan** ($12/month) unlocks the AI assistant, OCR document import, milestone automation, and integrations. New paid plan signups start with a **7-day free trial** — no charge until the trial ends, cancel anytime.

## Start your 7-day free trial
New Starter and Pro subscribers get a **7-day free trial**. You're not charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel from your account at any point during those seven days.
Sign in to Hedwig and visit [hedwigbot.xyz/pricing](https://hedwigbot.xyz/pricing), or open the **Account** menu and select **Upgrade**.
Pick **Starter** ($5/month) or **Pro** ($12/month). Use the **Monthly / Annual** toggle to choose billing interval. Annual saves 20%.
You'll be redirected to a secure checkout page to enter your payment details. You're not charged today — your card is held for after the trial.
Plan features unlock as soon as checkout completes. The first charge happens 7 days later if you don't cancel.
## Switch between plans or billing intervals
If you're already on a paid plan, you can change billing intervals or upgrade from Starter to Pro at any time from the pricing page.
1. Visit [hedwigbot.xyz/pricing](https://hedwigbot.xyz/pricing).
2. Toggle between **Monthly** and **Annual**.
3. Click **Switch to yearly billing** (or **Switch back to monthly billing**) below the plan card.
The change is prorated by your payment provider and takes effect immediately.
You can only manage subscriptions on the web if they were purchased through the web checkout. Subscriptions purchased through the iOS or Android app must be managed in the App Store or Google Play.
## Manage or cancel your subscription
The **Manage subscription** link on the pricing page opens your billing portal, where you can update your card, download invoices, change plans, or cancel.
* **Subscribed on the web:** click **Manage subscription** to open the secure billing portal.
* **Subscribed in the iOS or Android app:** changes must be made in your **Apple ID** subscriptions or **Google Play** subscriptions.
Cancelling stops your renewal at the end of the current period. You keep paid access until the period ends, then move back to the Free plan automatically.
## When to upgrade
**Upgrade to Starter** when you need recurring invoices for retainer clients or want full revenue history beyond 30 days.
**Upgrade to Pro** when any of the following apply:
* You want the **AI assistant** to summarize your day, draft follow-ups, or surface unpaid invoices.
* You want to **drag in PDF invoices or contracts** and have Hedwig OCR and classify them automatically.
* You need **multiple payout bank accounts** across countries to receive offramped funds.
* You want **milestone invoice automation** for project-based work.
* You want **Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Docs** integrations to work inside Hedwig.
If none of those apply yet, the Free plan covers the essentials and you can upgrade later without losing data.
## Frequently asked
No. The Free plan doesn't require a payment method. You only enter card details if you start a paid plan trial.
Your card is charged for the interval you selected (monthly or annual) and your plan stays enabled. Cancel any time during the 7 days to avoid the charge.
Yes. Cancel from **Manage subscription** to move to Free, or switch to Starter from the pricing page. You stay on Pro until the end of the current period, then move to the new plan. Your data, clients, and invoices remain intact.
Yes. Visit the pricing page, select Pro, and the switch is prorated by your payment provider.
Yes. Paid entitlements sync across the [hedwigbot.xyz](https://hedwigbot.xyz) dashboard and the iOS and Android apps as soon as your subscription is active.
Web checkout accepts major credit and debit cards. Mobile subscriptions use the standard Apple ID or Google Play payment methods on your device.
